I ordered the trial pack a month or so ago which came with a sleeve of the Pro, Pro Plus, Drive and Tour ball. I know during the peak golfing season I need and use a Tour level ball. in the winter/colder months I use a distance ball. Today I am going to share my initial thoughts on the Pro Plus, which I think is the best ball from their offerings for me.

I played a couple of holes with the Pro Plus, 2016 Chrome Soft and 2015 Bridgestone B330 Tour ball. I hit driver, three wood off the tee, pitching wedge and Sand Wedge into a green, both at a less than full swing.

Off the driver, the Pro Plus performed well, a tad bit shorter than the B330, but that may have been me. The Chrome Soft was my shortest, I attribute that more to my swing than the ball though. The feel off the driver was in-between a firm and soft. So it was in between the B330 and CS. The ball flight was a tad bit higher but nothing horrible. Compared with my normal gamers, I would not be leery of going with the Pro Plus.

Three Wood off the tee. My 1st swing with the Pro Plus was a horrible duck hook, and it hit a tree. I was very impressed with the durability as it struck the tree hard and had no really visible signs of hitting the tree. I reloaded and hit the Pro Plus again and the others. The Pro Plus was the longest off the tee this time. All three balls were within 5 yards of each other. The distance of the Pro Plus is right up there with the others again. The ball flight was higher but nothing too extreme. Again the Pro Plus performed well.

Pitching Wedge. Here is where it gets a bit interesting. The B330 hits and checks/ spins back for me off the Wedge for me. The Chrome Soft hit and ran forward. The Pro Plus, well I hit it short so I have no good feeling off the PW yet. I will try and get out this week and test it again. Inconclusive

Sand Wedge. I use a 54*. I dropped the balls at 75 yards out and swung about 3/4 swing. The B330 hit and checked, the Chrome Soft hit and ran a bit out. The Pro Plus hit and checked pretty good, a tad bit of run out, but less than the Chrome Soft. Again I have no issues using the Pro Plus over my current gamers.

I am going to try and do some full iron shots and more wedge shots with the 3 balls and will add a ProV1x into the mix as well. I know for me the Prov1x is one of the longest balls off the tee. But not by much more. I am also planning on doing short 58* lobs into the green and some chip and runs, ect.

The first time I hit the Pro Plus was in the spring, and I was not overly excited. But my swing was on tuned and the weather and course were not fair. After yesterday I am pretty excited about the ball. 5 dozen for $125 is a damn good deal, esp with the performance I have seen so far. I also have some Snells coming in. This is another ball the first time out I was not overly excited with but I have tried again and like. I am excited to put them all head to head. For the price I am really rooting for Vice and Snell to over take or be close enough to my Gamers. My wife and wallet would also be happy!

Thanks for the review. I was hitting a nitro. Randomly bought at Walmart. Had to go the cheap route, after playing with them I would only recommend them to beginners. Very heavy ball. It was hard to judge putt power. I really want to check the pro plus balls out. From the sounds of it they would work well with my swing. I have slowed my swing down a ton and haven't lost any distance:). Would you recommend a certain ball for me with my drive? I, no matter how low I tee the ball, manage to hit one to the moon. If I could find a ball that could somewhat eliminate that I could add 20-30 yd per drive easily.

The first questions would be, what is the loft of your driver, and flex of your shaft and weight. Do you know your swing speed?

It's a stiff shaft 9 degree loft. My swing speed is 85-93ish on avg

My initial thought is there is a swing flaw, if you are ballooning it. The Pro Plus and a similar low spin off the driver balls will in theory keep the ball lower.
