A friend sent me both a Red and a Black. After playing with each, I personally preferred the Black. Red felt a little hard for my much less than tour swing speed. Black seemed to be pretty much identical to the original MTB that I gamed and love. Have a dozen Black on the way to me.
Driver: Callaway GBB Epic
Fairway Woods: Callaway XHot Pro 3W & 5W
Irons: Hogan PTx 4 - P
Wedges: Hogan Equalizer 50*, 54*, 58*
Putter: SeeMore mFGP
Ball: Bridgestone B330-RX or Snell MTB Black

I concur - the Black is a little softer than Red, and a little longer off the tee. But my tests showed that the Red actually spins better. Snell introduced something they called "Dual Feel" technology in the MTB Red's. They're supposed to (and do) feel firmer off the driver/woods/long irons, but it does feel softer with the short irons and around the greens.

I just sent my MTB Red/Black review to Sean last night. Hopefully it'll get posted in the next few days.

According to my simulator, the new MTB Black is slightly longer off the tee, but still spins like the original MTB. I like it - guessing it'll become my regular ball. In my review, I said the same thing - MTB Red is probably better suited for faster swing speeds. Guess you could think of it as MTB Black = ProV1, MTB Red = ProV1x, though the MTB Red spins higher around the greens for more bite.

Sorry for the delay, I was recovering from unexpected knee surgery, then was hit with some thyroid issues that zapped my strength. The review was sent last nigh, though admittedly, my swing speed is down about 10mph on my driver right now. I'm finally able to start building up my strength again.
