They are definitely not taking the Olympics very seriously if some of the top pros are just going to skip it. I feel like golf is not really an Olympic sport to begin with though. I think the Olympics is designed to find the best athlete in the given sport, and with golf anybody can win in the given week depending on their form and the conditions presented to them. I'm sure that happens in the other sports there as well, but is limited to the very best of the best (Usain Bolt wins all the time). Top pro golfers seem to judge themselves more on their rank in the OWGR and Majors won, and might see the Olympics as an unnecessary distraction from their ultimate goal. But, I don't really know  Would be great if they all played, but I understand why some are backing out.... I think...

In golf, we have an "athlete" with a "valet" carrying his bag & clubs, telling him/her the distance & the terrain.
Is this a individual sport or a team sport? Should 2 medals be giving out for player & caddy?

Then the golf rules and the wild interpretations.

Golf should not be an Olympics sport. Lets keep the Olympics pure.
Else I would nominate NASCAR to be an Olympics sport.

Oh man that video made me laugh! Well most of the golfers now call them and their caddy a team right? I say give the caddies a medal!

Also, NASCAR would be a hard Olympic sport cause most the drivers are American, but could you imagine? Other countries would be like what in the.....?
