Remember we aren't Pro's. As much as we like to think we are. We aren't. With that said. Know your distances. And if you don't have ot in the bag. Don't be affraid to lay up to a distance that you're comfortable with. I know i can't reach a par 5 in 2. Sometimes my 2nd and 3rd shots can be with the same club. I cut it in half when i can.

If had to give one tip, it would be to play each hole as a contest. Don't think about what you MIGHT score on the round as a whole. You have 18 separate tasks. You give each hole your full concentration while you are playing it but then you are on to the next. No rehashing of holes or shots until after the round.

I heard once from a the great Cyril Velasco, "Be aware of your club face."

This changed everything. Fixed my slice, got better compression, longer drives, easier chips and one putts. It's about hitting it on the sweet spot and hitting it square whether it be the driver to the putter. To maximize your game and get the full potential from all your TOOLS you have to be taking advantage of the sweet spot. And by being aware of your club face and where it's pointing will tell you your faults.
