I've found that if I concentrate on where the bottom of my swing should be....I hit truer.Therefore....instead of "Keeping my eye on the ball"...I concentrate an inch or two behind(driver) or just in front of the ball

My on going over the top battle...I had my first lesson of season to knock rust off. I'd gone back to flipping and wasn't getting ball to start on target line or out of it.

He said...you aren't going to be able to swing out if you flip. 8 to 2 with flat wrist through impact.

My greatest tip would be to read Harvey Penick's Little red Book. Such a quick and fantastic read. Then take that book and apply it to your game. One part in the book talks about if you want to lower your score by 5 strokes then spend 90% of your practice time chipping and putting and the rest of the time on the driving range.
A must read if you love golf.

Compress the golf ball.
Oddly enough, after playing for almost 30 years..this is a relatively new concept to me.
I've always hit the ball, but now I focus on trying to hit solid shots and really feel and compress the ball.

I struggled with this (still comes back every now & then), best advice I got for that problem was...
Feel the sensation of taking your right shoulder UNDER your chin when you start the downswing. That will help you tuck in that right elbow and eliminate the over the top move.
Hope that helps! -- P.J.
