Hey yall, I came across a tip to basically eliminate any slicing of the golf ball with your driver. I've never heard of if it but if it's a common tip and I'm a noob forgive me, but it has worked wonders these past few weeks. For right handed players, when you are on the down swing, focus on straightening your arm. This allows the hands to turn over instead of keeping the face open. For lefties you just focus on your left arm. You might pull the ball a bit at first but once you tinker with it, wow what a difference. That's all! Just a tip for anyone struggling off the tee, we can't all be like Corey and have those kind of flight scope numbers  , but we can get closer :woohoo:

One thing Hank Haney told me about the difference between amateur golfers and good golfers is on the down swing, amateurs lead with their hands instead of with their knees and hips. Starting with the hands or casting is the root of evil slices. If you can start your downswing with your lower body your hands will follow and then hopefully you learn to hook the ball. That is the next phase after the slice. That's when you work on specific mechanics to fix the hook to a draw. So yeah, you want to lead with your lower body but you need the other half to meet up at the right place at impact. Golf is so much fun!!

My irons shots tend to have a heavy draw bias, but my woods always slice; anyone know why that could be??

It's really starting to make me angry

I definitely agree with Corey. When I focus on starting my downswing with my hips, I hit much better, straighter, longer, and iron shots have better height and tend to draw or go straight vs my natural fade.

It's rare that I do it, but when I do... I'm sitting much closer to th green/pin

You know what? Since watching Rickie win the Players and Morning Golf did a recap on Rickies swing showing him leading with his knees and hips. Since, I have started doing just that and noticed more consistency and length in my tee shots. Then with my irons I realized I have been missing left since I have started to work on this. Now with what Corey has said it makes sense. Little tweeks will do wonders with golf.
