Think back to when you first started golfing.

How long did it take before you felt like you were actually "good." Obviously there was room for improvement after that, too, but when did you feel confident that you could play a decent game?

Well I've never claimed to be good but a decent golfer. I think I would considered myself decent probably 3 years after I really started playing. I started playing golf my Junior year in HS and played on golf team my Senior Year. I couldn't break 52 for 9 holes to save my life. About my second semester in college I was playing 2-3 times a week and had latest and greatest clubs. No wonder playing in HS I couldn't break 52 I only had 3, 6, 7, and 9 iron. Wedges were some offset weird looking 60 and another SW. It just started to click and shot 73-78 pretty much anytime I played. Would be nice to be able to do that again!!! :pinch:

It all depends on the day.

Some days, I would say I still suck. Other days, I'm pretty good. The first time I felt confident to play a real game instead of just practicing was probably a year after I started.

2 years in and still not "good". I hit many more "good" shots, but am not "good".

I broke into the game at a late age... and taught myself everything I didn't know. But the game and I got along real well right away. It was after that first year I guess... I was breaking 85 all the time and broke 80 several times.
