Readers Digest version: EXTREMELY durable, comfortable, soft, without a doubt the best glove I've ever owned.
The details: I began playing the Hirzl glove early last summer, and I've still not put a new glove Hirzl or otherwise in play yet! It is made of Kangaroo Leather of which you won't find a softer feel in my opinion. This glove is incredible! I usually have a problem with my gloves drying out and becoming crispy after sitting in my bag between rounds to the point where I would keep the original plastic package to store them of which this still didn't alleviate the issue entirely. But with the Hirzl this is a NON ISSUE. This glove feels exactly the same each and every time. It was after about 30 range sessions and rounds where I finally broke a seam... But not where I expected or typically wear out my gloves.
I take my glove off after most shots and definitely when putting or around the green except when in the trap. Which obviously creates a lot of where and tear on a glove, so I typically wear out finger tips from tugging and pulling on the fingers or around the base of the palm where the fingers are connected. This glove actually first burst at the seam on the knuckle of my thumb, and like I said after at least 30 range sessions and rounds!
I usually tape the area around my first knuckle on the ring finger of my right hand because I use an interlock grip and my old gloves would cause blistering in that area. I don't tape that finger anymore because the feel of the glove is so soft and does not cause any discomfort at all. If this glove gets wet which is typical from me from either sweating, grabbing my wet towel when cleaning a club or washing a ball, or the occasional rain we play through in Denver, I actual feel like the glove becomes more tacky.
To me there is no question, the glove is without a doubt worth the price and I have no plans to wear any other glove anytime soon. I now use my "old glove" for practice sessions and likely won't need to replace it any time soon.
