Taylormade r11s driver review - Club Wars 2012 TaylorMade’s R11S was probably one of the most hyped clubs of this year’s release. Next to its partner in crime the RBZ, we were fairly excited to swing the R11S. Taylormade has always been the pioneer in driver adjustability, and they took their Flight Control Technology (FCT) to the next level. Now being able to close or open the face 3 degrees, and adjust loft 1.5 degrees either way, this driver is super versatile for any type of golf swing. It is a smaller club head, which is why it is deemed to be more of a "tour level" club, so forgiveness wasn’t very high. The R11 S finished well in the stats category, a decent average of 106.9 MPH in average club head speed, and a distance of 259.5 yards. The R11S surprisingly generated more spin than anticipated. The higher spin was the reason for its average showing in distance. With a bulky feel and look at approach you can really see the size difference compared to last years R11. When tuned, shaping shots can take a little more effort than you would want. But when all is set to standard your shot shaping is as easy as it comes.
