Just took delivery of my Wilson FG Tour V2's, My current set is the Ping S56's. Similar clubs, both players irons, I play to anywhere from 7-11 handicap, perhaps I shouldn't be playing a players iron but I just like the traditional look and setup.

My Pings have s300 sensicore shafts, the V2's have the KBS tour stiff shaft. The heads are almost identical in size, the V2's may? be fractionally smaller with slightly less offset. Went out to hit the Wilson's for the first time and let me tell you the feedback from the heads and shafts was tremendous. Although the V2's had less offset I found them easier to get airborn than the Pings. Distance wise, I found them to be identical in length to the S56's.

I gotta tell you, I am very impressed with the V2's, so much in fact that I am contemplating trading my S 56's for the Wilson CI 11's, so I have a set of player and a set of "game improvement" clubs, the CI 11's look gorgeous as do the V2's. Good job by Wilson to get back in the fray in club making.

I will say that Wilson custom took a few days longer than anticipated which was somewhat annoying, but it's winter in Chicago so no biggie.

Forget to add, the dispersion in my shots with the V2's was considerably tighter than the S 56's, which is always a nice deal.

Have played about 15 rounds with the new sticks, they really are nice, easy to work both ways with the KBS tour shaft, feedback is excellent. I feel they're slightly longer than my s56's. The only thing I don't like is, these are the first forged iron i've played in years, and the get nicked up and look beat very easily. But I love em.

Wilson Staff has been so under rated for a long time. I used the Pi5 irons for about 5 almost 6 years. The current line including the V2 is no exception. Keep us posted.. I love the looks of them.

Up to over 20 rounds with the new irons and also the FG Tour wedges, 60, 56, and 50 degree lofts, and the handicap is starting to tick down. These things are just solid, period. The feel is just buttery smooth when hit properly and when not , you know exactly where you missed it . Very easy to flight and work, either way. For a players club I find that mishits still give adequate distance, not overly penal like alot of forgings. Not a bad thing to say about these sticks or shafts. If you're thinking about these, pull the trigger.
