I wouldn't say it's leaving marks, as in pits, in the face.
But you can definitely tell where the ball makes contact with the face.
This pic was taken after 2 range sessions and 2 rounds.

I'll have more recent ones in my next review.
Thanks, -- P.J.

My Nike VR PRO DS Wedges look worse than that after 5 swings on the range. Is that abnormal or "bad"? I just figured it was due to an agressive wedge.
Crazy excited to #BRINGIT with a full on Callaway setup through my bag for 2013! Stoked to #GROWTHEGAME! Eager to #GRIND and #IMPROVE! PUMPED FOR ALL THINGS and CLUB WARS!!!

See I'm talking about nicks, not marks. They're little dings in the back of the club where it makes no contact. I've been away form home all weekend but I'll be back late tonight and can get some pictures. It's nothing but a cosmetic thing, nothing that hurts performance.

OK Guys, I've written my review. I will certainly continue to play these wedges, but I wanted a cumulative review on my thoughts documented. For ease of viewing, due to the length and pictures, I saved it all into a Word document.
I'm very interested in your thoughts on my approach to help myself improve as both a tester and "writer".
Thanks, -- P.J.

Here's a preview of the document:
The golf industry has seen revolutionary changes over the past 5 years or so, whether it’s the introduction of the hybrid clubs, adjustable drivers or belly-putters, but the wedge has gone relatively unchanged since it’s inception. But that’s changing with the introduction of the SCOR 4161 wedges. Never heard of SCOR? Well, neither had I until I read about their Silver Award in the 2012 Golf Digest© Hot List. Perhaps they’re just another “johnny come lately” golf company, eh? Not so fast….The SCOR Golf Company evolved from the Eidolon Golf Company and they’ve been making wedges since 2003, led by short-game guru Terry Koehler, who has a 30+ year history in the golf industry. When the USGA changed the groove rules, Koehler found when they applied the new groove standards to their clubs, the ball was sliding up the club face and causing a much higher launch condition than desired. So, SCOR scrapped the current design and went back to the drawing board…from scratch.

Wow PJ, just wow. I don't know if that can be topped, great review. You pretty much said everything that needed to be said, plus more! I had planned on a big review like that to conclude the testing down the road, but even what I had planned (which I thought was cool) is nowhere near as intricate as that. Great job!

Ok guys, here are some of the little nicks I have found in the clubs. If you look at earlier pictures, it's obvious they aren't there. And like I said, these clubs stay covered when in transport, and these places aren't even coming in contact with the ball or ground. The ones on the back are on the 45 degree, and the one on the toe is on the 60 degree. The 60 degree hadn't even been on the course yet when I found that spot, and the 45 degree had been hit often, but still shouldn't be there.

Like I said before though, these places don't really bother me, I just hate that they are there and have no idea where they came from.

Josh those can only be from hitting against something else. Those aren't marks made from hitting a ball. They are tru-formed forged so they are going to be alot softer than probably anything you have used before.

Yeah I know. I'm just confused as to how they got there. The metal must be pretty soft because these are always covered and don't clang against anything when in the bag. It's all good though, just wanted to clear up what I was talking about as far as nicks in the club. Definitely just a cosmetic blemish, but it's making me even more careful with them now.

These get the normal weekly work tomorrow morning and again Thursday morning. Still in love with them as of now.
